Welcome to Rainbow Room!
Rainbow Room is the home of Sally England Studio, as well as her happy place where she loves to share her love of creativity and making things!
This summer there will be four ‘Messy Creative Play’ Camp sessions offered at Rainbow Room for ages 6-9!
Make a rainbow connection this summer! Messy Play lets children develop their natural curiosity and engage their senses at their own pace. We will be exploring all sorts of creative sensory activities like playing with clay, building fairy dwellings, making a miniature Regatta, gardening, finger painting , creating sculptures with found materials, and whatever gets our hands moving and our minds grooving! All sessions take place outdoors, with plenty of shaded areas and gardens to enjoy. To beat the summer heat, we’ll start at 8am and wrap up at noon. A healthy mid-morning snack will be provided, as well as other small snacks as needed. Maximum 6 campers per session.

A little bit about me...
As an artist I’m passionate about promoting the benefits of handwork. When we immerse ourselves in crafts we are able to enter a flow state and be fully absorbed in the task at hand. This focused attention creates a space where the mind is free to process information and unwind, reducing stress and creating a sense of deep satisfaction. Having grown up before technology took over, I feel it's important to help younger generations discover the sense of freedom of imagination.
While my husband and I don't have children of our own, I have always been involved in caring for children. When I was 10, my younger sisters were born, and I took on a significant role in their care, from changing diapers to feeding and playing with them. Around the same time, my mother opened a home childcare center, where she lovingly cared for babies and children for over 30 years. She was recognized for her excellence in childcare, always providing healthy organic snacks, encouraging outdoor play and nature exploration, and infusing creativity into every day. Her dedication to teaching and nurturing creativity in children, which she also passed on to my youngest sister (now an Early Elementary School Teacher), has deeply influenced me.
In the past I've been fortunate to mentor several young and aspiring artists. I’ve also participated in internship programs, and taught workshops for both children and adults. Summer 2024 was the inaugural summer of Rainbow Room camps, and this summer (along with the Messy Play camps) I will be teaching a sold-out camp at Oak Grove for ages 9-12 called "Knotting, Weaving, & Twining.’
