Large-scale site specific installation created inside and outside of long vacant building on a busy intersection in the middle of downtown Grand Rapids. Incorporating thousands of faux flowers and greenery gathered from local cemetery throw-away piles, Project Propagate was an effort to show the potential of the building at 2 East Fulton to thrive once again. Project Propagate was part of the inaugural Artprize competition in 2009, and was created by Sally England and her partner Nick Stockton.
"…One piece that I found that had, I thought, some presence and was more successful in terms of its scale was Project Propagate, where they had recovered all these flowers from cemeteries...There was something both charming and kind of poignant about it, and Ilike that."
